Capacitor replacement is debated in retro gaming circles — but here’s our philosophy:
If your console has been…
• In a hot or humid space
• Exposed to spills or moisture
• Run on an out-of-spec or sketchy power adapter
• Sitting in storage for years
…then odds are good your capacitors are already degraded or leaking. Even if you’re not seeing symptoms yet, proactively replacing them can:
✔️ Improve audio/video quality
✔️ Increase overall stability
✔️ Prevent future damage
✔️ Add years to your console’s life
• Professional capacitor removal using soldering tweezers and hot air — no cutting or yanking that risks damaging pads or traces
• Replacement across all major boards: Mainboard and/or Power Supply
✅ No matter which recap option you choose, the single capacitor on the controller board is always included
• High-quality capacitors sourced exclusively from Mouser Electronics
• Installed with precision using the proper tools
• Verified with microscopic inspection, test boot, and stress testing
If your console shows up excessively dirty (e.g. insects, grime, rust, or major corrosion), we’ll pause service and contact you. Additional cleaning services may be required before proceeding.
Light dust? No problem.
But if your console arrives with:
• Insect infestations
• Grime, rust, or corrosion
• Spilled substances or "roach hotel" conditions

⚠️ We do not currently accept consoles with severe board damage (contact us first)
📩 You are responsible for securely packaging and shipping the console to our workshop. Return shipping will be charged at checkout.
